Wedding Photography in Ashland, KY & The Tri-State Area

We don’t take

“timeless”

photos…
A black-and-white photo of elderly people sitting in a row, attentively listening at an indoor event. The image shows diverse individuals, some with glasses, dressed in casual and semi-formal clothing, with a plain wall and a wall lamp in the background.

We take photographs that bring you back in the room — exactly the way it felt to be there. Photographs kept for years. That’s what timeless means for us—and it’s what we want for you.

Meet the Team

A man and woman smiling and leaning their foreheads together in a field of red and blue flowers with green trees in the background.

Hey, I'm Aysia — and that's my husband Xavier.

I fell in love with photography as a teenager. I tagged along with my aunt on her photography sessions. That was honestly it for me. Xavier found his way to it differently — a gifted film camera from a family friend, a muddy puddle, and a photo that came back looking like snow. Those experiences shaped our love for photography.

Now we get to do this together, which is something we don't take for granted. Our style is documentary at its core. We use prompts over stiff posing, film alongside digital. What you get back looks like your day — not a filtered version of it.

We serve couples across the Tri-State area including Boyd County, Huntington, WV, Southern Ohio, and Lexington, KY. And we travel anywhere the right wedding takes us.

We love what we do. We love the people we get to do it for. And we'll take care of you — not just on the day, but every step of the way.

What you can count on

Every photo is edited by us, personally — we enjoy the editing process. We select each picture, edit, and retouch each picture by hand.

Edited by Hand. Always.

Tying groomsmen's ties, fixing a wardrobe, carrying something heavy — if you need a hand, we're there. Photography is our job. Taking care of you is just who we are.

Two Photographers, One Day

It's not just a cute detail that we're husband and wife. It's actually a benefit to you. You're getting two photographers who know each other well, communicate without thinking about it, and are working toward the same result.

We Show Up for You

Alongside digital, we shoot a portion of your day on real 35mm film. It holds onto something digital doesn't quite capture — a warmth, a texture, a feel that's a little more real and a little less processed.

We love Film Photography

Ashland KY Venues We Know & Love

We've had the privilege of shooting at some incredible venues across the Tri-State area, including Stone Creek Farms in Ironton, Ohio. Stone Creek is a stunning newer venue — acres of rolling southern Ohio hills, natural light pouring through floor-to-ceiling doors, and a warmth that photographs beautifully in both digital and film.

If you're still deciding on a venue, we're happy to share what we know about local locations, lighting conditions, and what works best for the style of photography you're looking for.

We regularly shoot weddings throughout:

Ashland & Boyd County, KY — our home base, and where we know the light best
Huntington & the WV Tri-State region — experienced with indoor and outdoor venues throughout the area
Ironton & Southern Ohio — including Stone Creek Farms and the Ohio River Valley
Lexington, KY — horse country estates, historic venues, and everything in between

Days We've Been Part Of

The Wedding

That Didn't Rain

Who We Are

Before every wedding we shoot, we send a questionnaire. One bride told us she'd always pictured getting married outdoors.

The weather had other plans. It sprinkled during the pre-wedding photos and the ceremony moved inside.

It never truly rained. But it was enough.

We couldn't stop thinking about her answer. So afterward we offered the couple a free session — no occasion, no expiration. Just a small way of saying we noticed what she'd hoped for, even if the day didn't give it to her.

That's the kind of photographers we want to be.

Kind Words

Aysia was amazing! My girlfriend and I booked a couples shoot with her, and she was the best! We were worried we’d book someone and have no idea what to do, but Aysia directed us and walked us through every pose. The pictures came out fantastic and can’t wait to book her again!!

Aysia and Xavier are incredible! The final results, after Aysia edits them, are absolutely amazing.

More than that though, the two of them work so effortlessly together and make the session (or wedding day) so stress-free. I’d hire them again in a heartbeat and hope to see more of them in the future.

Aysia, you’re the best!! Thank you for everything, and always being willing to answer my questions or try random poses I found online.

Our day was so magical.

Aysia is the best! She is so supportive and cheerful! She is a great encourager, and she takes wonderful pictures!! I will have her take pictures for everything in the future! I can’t recommend her enough!!

THE FIRST KISS BUT…

Frequently Asked Questions

What does documentary wedding photography mean?

1

It means we're focused on what's actually happening, not what we can stage. We document your day as it unfolds — the real moments, the quiet ones, the ones nobody planned. We still do portraits and family formals, but those aren't the whole story. Just part of it.

Do you still do family formals and portraits?

2

Absolutely. We know how important those are and we'll make sure you get them. We just make them feel as natural as everything else — prompts over stiff posing, real expressions over perfect ones.

Do you shoot film?

3

Yes. We shoot a portion of every wedding on real 35mm film alongside digital. It's part of what gives our work that warm, textured, true-to-life quality.

How long until we get our photos?

4

You'll receive a sneak peek gallery within one week of your wedding. Your full high-resolution gallery arrives within 4–6 weeks.
