True to life. Kept forever.

Engagement Photography in Ashland, KY & The Tri-State Area

An engagement session isn't just about getting pretty photos before your wedding. It's about showing up on your wedding day already knowing how this works — already comfortable, already yourselves.

We don’t take

“timeless”

photos…
A couple dressed in wedding attire sitting outdoors under a tree, sharing a moment of affection with their foreheads touching. The woman is smiling with her eyes closed, and the man is gently holding her face. The background is a park-like setting with blurred trees and grass.

We take photographs that bring you back in the room — exactly the way it felt to be there. Photographs kept for years. That’s what timeless means for us—and it’s what we want for you.

Meet the Team

A smiling man and woman standing close together in a field of red and purple flowers, with green trees in the background.

Hey, I'm Aysia — and that's my husband Xavier.

I fell in love with photography as a teenager. I tagged along with my aunt on her photography sessions. That was honestly it for me. Xavier found his way to it differently — a gifted film camera from a family friend, a muddy puddle, and a photo that came back looking like snow. Those experiences shaped our love for photography.

Now we get to do this together, which is something we don't take for granted. Our style is documentary at its core. We use prompts over stiff posing, film alongside digital. What you get back looks like your day — not a filtered version of it.

We serve couples across the Tri-State area including Boyd County, Huntington, WV, Southern Ohio, and Lexington, KY. And we travel anywhere the right wedding takes us.

We love what we do. We love the people we get to do it for. And we'll take care of you — not just on the day, but every step of the way.

What you can count on

Every photo is edited by us, personally — we enjoy the editing process. We select each picture, edit, and retouch each picture by hand.

Edited by Hand. Always.

Making sure you feel comfortable, fixing a wardrobe, carrying something heavy — if you need a hand, we're there. Photography is our job. Taking care of you is just who we are.

Two Photographers, One Day

It's not just a cute detail that we're husband and wife. It's actually a benefit to you. You're getting two photographers who know each other well, communicate without thinking about it, and are working toward the same result.

We Show Up for You

Alongside digital, we shoot a portion of your day on real 35mm film. It holds onto something digital doesn't quite capture — a warmth, a texture, a feel that's a little more real and a little less processed.

We love Film Photography

Where We Shoot

We have spots we love and go back to often — places where the light is right, the setting feels natural, and couples tend to loosen up quickly. If you have somewhere in mind that means something to you both, we're all for it. A place that's yours will almost always tell a better story than a place that's just pretty.

We shoot throughout Ashland, Boyd County, the Tri-State area, and beyond. If you have a location in mind outside our area, let us know — we travel.

Days We've Been Part Of

The Wedding

That Didn't Rain

Who We Are

Before every wedding we shoot, we send a questionnaire. One bride told us she'd always pictured getting married outdoors.

The weather had other plans. It sprinkled during the pre-wedding photos and the ceremony moved inside.

It never truly rained. But it was enough.

We couldn't stop thinking about her answer. So afterward we offered the couple a free session — no occasion, no expiration. Just a small way of saying we noticed what she'd hoped for, even if the day didn't give it to her.

That's the kind of photographers we want to be.

Kind Words
A young woman with long, wavy hair and a young man with short, brown hair share an affectionate moment outdoors, with the woman smiling as the man kisses her on the cheek, surrounded by blurred green trees.

Aysia was amazing! My girlfriend and I booked a couples shoot with her, and she was the best! We were worried we’d book someone and have no idea what to do, but Aysia directed us and walked us through every pose. The pictures came out fantastic and can’t wait to book her again!!

A newlywed couple standing outdoors on a sunny day with green trees in the background. The groom has brown hair, a beard, and is wearing a dark suit with a colorful floral tie. The bride has light brown, curly hair, wearing glasses, a white wedding dress with floral accents, and a veil with a tiara. They are smiling and holding each other, with the bride's left hand showing a wedding ring.

Aysia and Xavier are incredible! The final results, after Aysia edits them, are absolutely amazing.

More than that though, the two of them work so effortlessly together and make the session (or wedding day) so stress-free. I’d hire them again in a heartbeat and hope to see more of them in the future.

Aysia, you’re the best!! Thank you for everything, and always being willing to answer my questions or try random poses I found online.

Our day was so magical.

Aysia is the best! She is so supportive and cheerful! She is a great encourager, and she takes wonderful pictures!! I will have her take pictures for everything in the future! I can’t recommend her enough!!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we actually need an engagement session?

1

You don't need one. But almost every couple who does one tells us it made their wedding day easier — because they already knew what to expect from us, and we already knew what to expect from them. If you're someone who feels uncomfortable in front of a camera, an engagement session is probably the best investment you can make before your wedding day.

How far in advance should we book?

2

As soon as you can, especially if you're booking ahead of your wedding. If you want your engagement session to happen at a specific time of year or in a specific season, earlier is always better.

Do you shoot film?

3

Yes. We shoot a portion of every wedding on real 35mm film alongside digital. It's part of what gives our work that warm, textured, true-to-life quality.

Do you travel for engagement sessions?

4

Yes. We're based in Ashland but available throughout the Tri-State area and beyond. If you have somewhere in mind, just let us know.
